My Story…
At the age of 9, my Mother died from Lupus which forced my twin sister Katherine and I to learn to cook for our Father, a hard working Greek immigrant from Velventos. He expected dinner on the table at 5PM every night when he returned home from a long day at work.
While watching our Mother toil in the kitchen from a very early age, we were impressed by her use of all natural ingredients and old school Greek traditional methods, so it didn’t take long for my sister and I to pick up the art of Greek baking and cooking.
This is when I learned to make my Father’s favorite dish… my famous SPANAKOPITA, spinach pie! Of course the secret ingredient is my Father’s old broomstick and the flick of the wrist… I still to this day, 50 years later, use my Fathers original broomstick when making my phyllo dough. Although my personal favorite pita is still the traditional spinach pie, I am also known for making the best cheese pita pies, meat pita pies and most recently vegetarian pita pies!
During COVID-19, the idea of “MY PITA PIES” was born! When asked, what is your favorite food, I always say “My Pita Pies”… I hope you will say the same!
In 2016, I opened BodyX, the first studio to combine fitness and nutrition under one roof. I currently offer cooking classes in its state of the art kitchen. For more information, click here.
